How long have you been vaping?
#1
Hey guys !
Thought I'd make this topic to see how long everyone has been vaping.

I personally have been at it for around 5 months, 3 of those without cigarettes.
I absolute bloody love it Big Grin

So what about you guys? Any vaping 'veterans' ? any newbies? Smile

I've been vaping for about 7-8 months now and I can't really remember the last time I smoked a cig but it has been awhile. I have worked my way up from the disposable little ecigs to vape pens, to mods, and now im starting to build my own coils in various drippers and tanks. I still learn something new every day so I consider myself somewhere between intermediate and advanced.

It's kinda funny, I read your post and wondered how long it's been since I have smoked and really enjoyed a real cig so I did a little test.

I've had this near empty pack of full flavor menthol cigs sitting on my desk for a couple months now and pretty much all of them have gone to my neighbor that comes over to sneak a smoke when his gf isnt looking. However, I had three left in the pack and I wanted to see just how far i've come so I lit one up!

At first, I was almost "afraid" to inhale so I kinda puffed on it and hmmm. nothing special or romantic about it. Then I finally took a nice big draw and inhaled it..... nastiest thing I have tasted in a long time!

I usually use juices with a bit of menthol added and after vaping like that for months, the full flavored menthol cig tasted like it had zero menthol in it. That and the fact that it tasted just plain gross, I had no problem putting that nasty thing out after 3 puffs and barely one inhale lol.

Conclusion? Apparently I have transferred the enjoyment I once had for real cigs, over to my various vapes and juices. This of course is perfectly fine with me, and those remaining two cigs will continue to sit on my desk until my neighbor bums them and then he's out of luck Smile

I`m closing in on a year come this April. I went completely cold turkey and just forced myself to vape and vape whenever I felt like I needed a smoke. It totally worked! Big Grin I have not spent a single penny on a pack of cigarettes for nearly a year, although I`ve smoked on and off occasionally from friends and family. I would not exchange my trusty e-cig for a pack of smokes ever.

Cool !
I like that you did that experiment Big Grin
It is weird that you can smoke a pack a day, and the when you've been away from cigarettes for a while, they just taste absolutely awful.
Also, really good that you've been able to keep your hands off them even you they were within arms reach all the time Smile

My husband did this too! He hadn't had a cigarette in a couple of months and he decided to have one. He said it was awful and he actually felt sick afterward, lol. It really makes me wonder how in the world I managed to smoke almost a pack a day for years. What was I thinking?! I can tell when someone has had a cigarette. Every so often, we go up to the casino in Oklahoma and smoking is permitted. I can smell cigarette smoke way before I reach the person smoking the cigarette.

I was putting my winter jackets away and came across my "smoking" jacket. It was the one that I would wear in the garage (we didn't smoke in the house) and it smelled AWFUL. Really bad. I think that's one of the best things about switching for me. I didn't really smell cigarettes on people before and now I do. I would like to formally apologize to all of my friends and family who didn't smoke but had to smell me, lol. I was always one of those compulsive hand washer, mint poppers but I know that doesn't really do anything.

I know exactly what you mean, I am amazed at how sensitive I am now to the smell of cigarette smoke.

I started not so long ago, I think I bought my first vape a month ago. I wouldn't give it back though. I stopped smoking two months ago already, but decided to take a look at vapes.

I've started doing it 2 weeks ago and I'm still a newbie to it. Big Grin

I've been vaping since January 2014 and I don't regret it at all. It was the best experience of the year by far. It's also more cost-efficient.

Well, I can say that I'm a "newbie", as I'm only vaping for one month. However, it had really helped me quit, so I love it. I'm going to carry on vaping, because I want to definetely quit smoking.
